On Monday afternoon, Mesa Fire and Medical honored those who helped save a Carson Junior High student's life. 🚒
Earlier this year, students were at the Carson Aquatic Complex for a class project when a student suffered a medical emergency. Carson teacher Raquel Ramos immediately contacted School Resource Officer Barry Guernsey, prompting a swift response. School Resource Officer Rebecca Coran responded from Westwood High School, where she found lifeguards Cambrie Johnston and Talan McDowell performing chest compressions. Officer Coran took over CPR as School Nurse Nicole Harris applied the AED, with Engine 218 arriving shortly after to continue life-saving efforts.
Mesa Public Schools is grateful for everyone's quick actions in helping the student survive.
