The Alta Vista Campus’s HEART Program opened its doors last month to showcase something truly special — the fully rehabilitated home at 821 Garfield. For the past several years, HEART students have poured their time, energy, and growing skills into transforming this once-blighted property into a beautiful, livable home. Through the HEART Program’s hands-on construction training, students gain real-world experience, build confidence, and discover the power of their own hard work. This open house was a chance to celebrate their dedication, craftsmanship, and the meaningful impact they’re making in our community. A special thank-you to our community partners and the City of Dubuque for coming together to support this project and enrich the learning experience for our students. We’re incredibly proud of what they accomplished.
