Jones Beach reopened a day after a crowd of hundreds of youths fighting on the beach were dispersed by the police with the help of a helicopter, according to the authorities. An 18-year-old man was also arrested after he allegedly approached officers, lifted his shirt and showed what turned out to be the handle of an imitation firearm in his waistband, the release said.
