My heart just shatters thinking about this woman 💔. I am such a huge advocate for pool safety, so wanted to share one of the best tips I ever received. Before I had kids my sister told me that if I ever had to step out for whatever reason (had to go to the bathroom, grab a plate of food, etc.), make sure you go to another adult there, tell them where you’re going, and leave your child in their hands. This sounds like common sense, but I see it all the time where a parent steps out and they assume that, because there are a lot of adults around, that their child is being supervised. Never assume (especially around a body of water!). Once you make that adult aware that your child is their responsibility, even if you only have to step away for a minute, they will be actively watching your child.
