Today we are delighted to officially welcome Professor Kamila Hawthorne as our new Chair. Kamila is the first South Asian woman to become Chair of Council and works as a GP in the Welsh valleys. She said: "I am honoured to have been elected as the new Chair of the RCGP and will do everything I can to represent the views of frontline GPs across the UK at such a challenging time for general practice and the NHS. "I will do everything possible over the next three years to make sure our professional voice is a strong one and that politicians, policy makers and influencers, including the media, understand and appreciate the work GPs do".
