Age is not a barrier to curiosity or competition. Two debate teams composed entirely of debaters over 70, including one nearing 97, took the stage at Wake Forest University after a collaboration sparked by our championship debate program. What began as a demonstration grew into the Salemtowne Debate Society, culminating in a first-of-its-kind public debate between two retirement communities.
