When Love is a Trap
Tanya Gould, a Human Trafficking Survivor Expert, shares a real story about how Romeo traffickers use love as bait.
Romeo trafficking is one of the most common forms of youth sex trafficking in the United States:
✔️ It often starts with an emotional connection, not force.
✔️ Traffickers identify and exploit emotional needs like loneliness, low self-worth, or past trauma.
✔️ Grooming is used to build dependence and loyalty.
✔️ Then they slowly shift from affection to control and exploitation.
Traffickers use tactics like this to prey on the vulnerable. But together, we can push back. We can defend the vulnerable and DISRUPT this evil. Will you stand in the gap for these children today?
