Last night was Hispanic Heritage Night at Toyota Arena and the Ontario Reign took the ice wearing these specialty jerseys I designed! I looked toward traditional pottery as inspiration for the striping and the “flor” shoulder patch reflects the heavy usage of floral designs in folk art. I am so proud of this project and I cannot express how happy I was to hear the mariachi music throughout the concourse as these elements laid the scene for our theme night. I vividly remember showing my dad drawings I’d make of hockey jerseys growing up, telling him how much I wanted to make one. I remember all the summers I’d spend amongst the flowers in my grandparents garden. Feels right that this is my first hockey sweater. #GRG
