Happy 4th of July! šŗšø
Weāre celebrating with two unique takes on the American flagāeach reflecting a different voice, medium, and message. Javier Guadalupe, originally from Quito, Ecuador, creates intricate, dimensional textile works from European fabrics like cashmere, cotton, satin, and wool. His piece āBrave Nationā transforms traditional symbols into something tactile and contemporary. John Westbay, a self-taught artist from Brooklyn, started tagging āLOVEā across NYC walls before translating street art onto canvas. His painting āAll Americanā captures the optimism of pop-inspired street art, infusing the piece with the spirit of freedom and self-expression.
Soāwhich flag is your favorite?
From soft textures to bright colors, we all bleed red, white, and blueājust in different ways.
Happy Birthday, America. ā¤ļøš¤š
