Dillard University’s longtime concert choir director, Dr. S. Carver Davenport, is celebrating an incredible 50-year career shaping generations of musicians. Since 1975, Davenport has trained thousands of students, preserving HBCU music history while blending classical, gospel, and spiritual traditions. Under his leadership, the choir has performed at the White House for Presidents Ford and Obama, the 1990 Super Bowl, and toured across the South and Midwest..
