When the Great Recession hit our economy, my family faced financial hardship. But thanks to the kindness of neighbors and church friends who quietly left food on our doorstep, I never had to experience the pain and confusion of missing a meal; I just got to be a kid! I joined BBFD for all the other little girls in Alabama—so they will never have to wonder where their next meal will come from.
