Reminder | Skating paused, walking lanes only⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⛔ Skating has been paused as of 8 am this morning, until further notice. ⁠ ⁠ ⚠ Enjoy the full 7.8 km length of the Rideau Canal Skateway for a walk to preserve the ice during this warm spell. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 📍 All access points are open ⁠ ⁠ 🚶‍♀️ We encourage people to walk on the walking lanes, but when these aren’t available, please walk on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway side of the Skateway, not in the middle of the ice. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ➡ Follow on-ice signage ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ☕ Washrooms, change rooms, and food and beverage concessions will remain open ⁠ ⁠ Staying off the ice is important to preserve the surface during this warm weather. By staying on the designated walking areas, we can reduce the damage to the ice caused by skates while the ice is soft.
