DYK: the Tarpon Springs Epiphany is the largest Greek Epiphany celebration in the Western Hemisphere? This 100-plus year-old Tarpon Springs tradition happens every January 6th. The day’s highlight comes when an Orthodox bishop tosses a cross into Spring Bayou. Thousands of onlookers cheer as the town’s young men, ages 16-18, dive for the cross, which is believed to bring added blessings to the lucky boy who retrieves it. What follows is an Epiphany Glendi, a lively gathering with food, drink and live music. All of the day’s events are free. More info at the link in our bio.
