DISCUSSION: It has become abundantly clear that the Florida State football staff want to acquire a running back in the transfer portal. The Seminoles were attempting to get North Carolina State’s Hollywood Smothers in the portal, but the visit was canceled and he will take a trip to Tuscaloosa. However, Florida State has emerged for another back in Texas’s Tre Wisner, who will be visiting Tallahassee this weekend. Both Smothers and Wisner are productive backs, but the fan base is critical of the decision because of the options on the roster such as Ousmane Kromah, Sam Singleton Jr., and Amari Thomas. However, Florida State did add a new running backs coach in Kam Martin that could prefer other options. Nonetheless, the fan base has expressed concerns with giving resources for a running back when quarterback, offensive line, defensive line, and linebacker are more pressing needs on the roster.
