It shows that they collected information about the legendary singer from 1967-2007. They used fake phone calls, infiltration, and surveillance in an attempt to gauge how involved she was with the civil rights movement, communism, and the Black Power movement. ____________________________________ The document, which was released in early September, contains 270 pages and includes reports from more than a dozen states. It shows that the FBI extensively tracked Franklin’s activism, and particularly her friendships with #DrMartinLutherKingJr , and #AngelaDavis. ____________________________________ According to @npr, the document lists three death threats made against the Queen of Soul, and even includes infringements of her music and performances.
