Jewell congratulates Emily Abdoler, M.D., on being named a Citation for Achievement recipient! The 2006 Jewell alumna is a clinical associate professor of medicine at umichmedschool and an infectious disease physician at the VA Ann Arbor Health System. Emily serves locally through various educational committees and nationally as a leader in the Infectious Diseases Society of America Medical Education Community of Practice. Her research interests lie in the areas of metacognition, and she has been involved in the majority of empiric studies examining the subset of clinical reasoning focused on testing and treatment decisions. Among her numerous recognitions include selection for the National Academy of Medicine Diagnostic Excellence Scholars Program and an award through the Association of American Medical Colleges for achievement as a medical educator.
