Following his first-ever conversation with President Trump, Colombia's left-wing President Gustavo Petro told CBS News' lilialuciano that he hoped an ongoing dialogue with Mr. Trump would "stop a world war." During the 50-minute phone call with Mr. Trump, Petro said he talked about what he described as the success of Colombia’s narcotrafficking enforcement efforts and Venezuela. "He did not mention any specifics [about Venezuela], but rather we talked about a process to restore communication... That means that perhaps these points will be dealt with exclusively in person, which seems fine to me," Petro said. #colombia #trump #petro
