One of the ways Nicole and I steady the twins’ hearts is something we call bookending the day. We can’t control everything they hear, see, or feel once they leave the house. The world gets the middle …. that’s just reality. But we can play our part in how they’re sent off and how they’re sent to bed. We make sure they leave feeling loved and secure. We do our best to not rush, yell, or creating anxiety before the day even starts. And at night … no matter how the day went … we slow down, reconnect, pray, and cover them with love before sleep.
