How do I take my dog to Europe?
I often get asked this question, and the first time I did it, I was very nervous (mainly because of the unknown). So here is everything I can think of that you would need to know when taking your dog to Europe in a vehicle.
The prep before hand
You need to get the following from a vet:
✅Animal Health Certificate (AHC)
-lasts one exit and reentry to the UK. Costs between £100-£350 literally depends on the vet and what they want to charge. Your local vet may need 3 months warning- it’s a long document they need to make and they’re very busy. There are some specific AHC vets around the UK that solely do this and can therefore get them done in a week. They also cost less in my experience
✅Rabies Vaccine
- this will last 3 years, so you only need it done once every 3 years
Make 2 copies of the AHC you cannot loose it, your pet won’t be aloud back in
On the way Home:
You need to go to a vet in Europe and get a working tablet administered by a vet ...
