We had the great honor of joining one of 50 KiDS NEED MoRE “elf” buses this holiday season and driving house to house giving out gifts to kids who needed a little joy (their families submit their names). Some of the kids were sick, some were in unthinkable situations, but all of them were children. It was amazing to see their faces as a bus of elves appeared. We got off the bus at each stop, sang to them, summoned Santa who ho ho ho’d from the heart (all day), and then handed over a giant bag of toys (the parents submitted a wish list). We also stopped at walmart and led a surprising jolly parade around the store (which was not on my bingo card). The people on our bus started as strangers but quickly became friends. We were together all day spreading joy to more strangers which is the truest form of a mitzvah. kidsneedmore_inc is an incredible organization that works tirelessly all year long doing things like this.
