Laila Edwards is ready to step into the spotlight. ⭐⁣ ⁣ The 21-year-old was named to the Team USA women’s hockey roster for the Milano Cortina Olympics, making her the first Black woman to ever play for that team. In her recent conversation with The GIST, Edwards said she wants to be “that role model for minorities and Black girls who just want to get into hockey.” 🏒⁣ ⁣ Edwards is the moment, the movement, and so much more — and just before she found out she was heading to the Olympics, she sat down with The GIST co-founder Ellen Hyslop. 🎧⁣ ⁣ Hit the link in bio to join The GIST Plus today! 🫶⁣ ⁣ #womenssports #hockey #milanocortina2026
