Soaring through stormy Sagittarius seas The Lagoon Nebula, found in the constellation Sagittarius, has a calm-sounding name. At the heart of the nebula, though (as seen in this image from NASAHubble), intense winds and churning funnels of gas are being whipped around by dazzling newborn stars. In the very center, a bright star known as Herschel 36 is sculpting the surrounding cloud. For decades, Hubble has been keeping an eye on the universe 24/7, meaning that it's observed at least one cosmic wonder every day of the year.
