in a lot of things in life i think we skip the part where we contemplate what we're doing to go straight to the doing what we're gonna do, and tremolo is one such activity. It's really easy to get caught up in the technical things happening in the right hand and we overlook some of the things in the music. this is problematic because the tremolo technique ends up being one of the most literally polyphonic types of music we have on the guitar. there are lots of things that imply polyphony, but in tremolo it's right there in front of us, and i think a lot of us ignore the way the chords fit together and fail to study the harmonies because we're so worried about making the sound even. so with that in mind here i am studying the polyphony. video one is just blocking out the harmonies. video two is the lower voices articulated against the melody. these two studies reveal that the whole first page of the piece is really one long phrase that establishes d minor as tonic before going on a fuc...
