for #techniquetuesday i thought id show a walkthrough of how i came up with the concert program i think ill be playing this coming year. like seemingly everything else in life it starts with a set of lists: things i know, things i know but havent done in a while, things i want to do. the things i like the most from those lists. and then we're off to the brainstorming. for a normal concert, ie one that's on a concert series and starts at night and all that, i shoot for like 90ish minutes of music, an hour on the first half and about 30 on the second half. so the next set of pics is me trying to work through what i would like to do the most that fits roughly into that. at the end is what i think i'll be doing. there are some things that i really want to get to. for example, i did an arrangement of the bach chromatic fantasy and fugue, but i dont think i'll be able to have that learned as well as i would like by mid-october. funny how being a musician has you stressed as hell for somet...
