so much of guitar writing is a melody on top of tricky arpeggios. while practicing our 120 giuliani studies is great (honestly no it's not), we have to come up with a way of bringing out the melody so the music doesn't sound like a heap of unappetizing mono-textural mush. to do this i turn to the advice i got in a lesson with ben verdery when bringing in this EXACT passage. the idea is that you pump out that good melody as loud as possible, don't even worry about if it sounds good, with some meaty rest strokes. try to keep the underlying arpeggios very soft. it helps to use a metronome so you don't rush like ya boy. also don't clench your jaw. can you feel your feet on the floor? don't forget to breath! good luck nylon pumpers! piece: regondi's variations on a theme of bellini. one of those pieces that every time i return to it i simply cannot believe ive managed to learn all of these notes and even play all of these notes for people who decided it was a smart idea to listen to me pla...
