left eliot's office as a student for the very last time last night it was very fitting that two years to the day of putting the down payment on the apartment in boston that i ended my time with him. very fitting that our last lesson ended how our first lesson began, talking about kentucky and vietnam, the bleakness of our time, and the times before us. eliot's one of those very special people that makes you understand the weight of our history and present, and at once the optimism we should all hold for a better future if we pursue all things will love. immensely grateful to have spent two years with such an inspiring, encouraging, nurturing individual who challenges us all to chase after the things we believe in and to give all of ourselves to it. people from undergrad probably remember how endlessly id talk about him, and im still tickled beyond words to have been given the opportunity to study with him. i applied to nec as a shot in the dark, almost walked out of the school like 5...
