I was watching the video of my most recent concert the other day and I spent the entire time wondering, "Jamie, dearest Jamie, what the LIVING CHRIST are you doing with your feet????" So with that thought in mind on this, our favorite day of the week,
#TechniqueTuesday, we are putting a bit of awareness into our twinkling toes and feet.
Similar to the breathing exercise from a few weeks ago, it's helpful to return to the feeling of weight in our feet while playing. It's super great to get on that yogi shit and connect with the ground and Momma Earth who gives us all life. Grounding yourself really provides a sense of stability. You don't have to be rigid in this, but it's a place to return to and call home. And to be honest sometimes when you're deep into Piazzolla you simply cannot resit the temptation to boogie.
