On this edition of #TechniqueTuesday we’re focusing on our breath. While practicing these things that are damn near impossible it’s important to remind ourselves to inhale and exhale so that we’re free of the added tension not breathing puts in a buncha different places in our body like our jaw and shoulders. As we strive to become aware of breathing whilst playing we prioritize feeling the inhalations and exhalations over perfect playing (if that wasn’t obvious from the video) and notice the places where we are naturally combative to breathing, such as the places in this fugue that have very literally driven me to consider quitting playing guitar. As you practice join in the song of your mindful brethren and exclaim #BreathingIsGood before you bring some awareness of the breath into your practice. .
