Recap is Arlene Acevedo, Alexis Carter, Tiahna Sterling, and Aline Vasquez, a new percussion quartet from a new generation of musicians seeking to redefine what classical music ensembles can be. Growing up as close friends in Rahway NJ and later performing in Mantra Youth Percussion, the members of Recap embrace their diverse backgrounds as well as the history and culture of their city and community to create a musical identity uniquely their own. Recap will release their debut album Count to Five in September 2021 on Innova Recordings with guest artists Caroline Shaw, Andie Tanning, Lesley Flanigan, and Transit New Music featuring music by Angelica Negron, Allison Loggins-Hull, Ellen Reid, Lesley Flanigan, Mary Kouyoumdjian, and Caroline Shaw.
