KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS OUT 4-6 WEEKS WITH CALF STRAIN
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns has reportedly suffered a right calf strain, which will keep the player sidelined for four to six weeks, according to
@WojESPN.
Towns was feared to have damaged his Achilles given the 27-year-old had a non-contact injury and seemed to have looked behind him as if someone touched his leg—which are common signs of the infamous injury. However, tests showed no evidence of structural damage of the tendon, per
@ShamsNBA.
Towns’ injury is terrible news to the Timberwolves, who have a disappointing 10-11 record after their blockbuster trade for Rudy Gobert last offseason. In 21 games, Towns has been averaging 20.8 points on 50.5% shooting along with career-lows 8.2 rebounds and 32.5% shooting from deep.
