Guess what... Fad diets such as intermittent fasting, keto, the grapefruit diet, juicing diet... The ONLY reason this work is because it drastically reduces your caloric consumption.

For example... Keto... It works because you eliminate the most readily available nutrient source, aka carbs. Carbs are what the typical American grazes on all day long... So if you cut that out and focus on protein and fats, your caloric consumption will drastically be reduced for most people. Hence weight loss.

For Intermittent fasting... It works because the typical American eats all day every day, and to shorten their eating window from 12 hours, down to 6 hours, chances are caloric consumption will be reduced, hence weight loss.
