The celebration brought major visual and entertainment changes to EPCOT. In 1999, the iconic Mickey wand with “2000” was installed beside Spaceship Earth, becoming a defining symbol of the event. A brand-new nighttime spectacular, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, debuted on the World Showcase Lagoon, along with the daytime parade Tapestry of Nations, both created specifically for the Millennium Celebration. The parade later inspired Disney’s Super Bowl XXXIV halftime show, which also promoted the celebration worldwide.
The official theme song, "Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand," was released on the 1999 Walt Disney World album and also featured on the Millennium Celebration soundtrack, which included music from the fireworks show and parade. A promotional version of the album was even distributed through Energizer battery purchases during the event.
