In early May, skier Tonje Kvivik’s (tonjekvivik) ‘24-’25 season wrapped after a cloud-filled attempt at the Whitemantle Traverse. The trip represented an evolution in her ability to navigate and mitigate risk in big, complex terrain, but there was little time to reflect: Her master's thesis in cybersecurity was due in 12 days. She hopped on a plane, broke her computer screen on the way, and finally made it back home to Norway to accept her degree.
She was 18 months removed from double ACL surgery, and just one month removed from life-changing lines with Craig Murray (weazydavis) in Haines, Alaska.
How would Tonje describe last season? “Eventful.” What’s she looking forward to this season? “Keep jumping on every opportunity!”
