Keith Conley has cooperated with Operation Catahoula Crunch since the Border Patrol began operations in the New Orleans area in December. That has led to a rapport with Commander-At-Large Gregory Bovino that Conley said includes 15-minute notices of Border Patrol activity about to happen in Kenner. As Border Patrol completes the first month of its south Louisiana operation, Conley has emerged as the main elected official publicly supporting federal agents’ presence while he oversees law enforcement for the city with the highest Hispanic population per capita in Louisiana and the site of the most immigration enforcement activity recently.
