It's WILD WEDNESDAY and the final class periods for all Fall semester Wednesday electives.
As Upper Division students are selecting their Spring semester Wednesday classes this week, we are shining a light on the always popular DJDS Wilderness Programs for taking learning well beyond school grounds these last few months—and setting the stage for an adventurous second semester.
During the first semester, students gained hands-on skills that will come in handy whenever they are out in nature: setting up camp, cooking outdoors, choosing proper hiking gear, reading maps, tying knots, identifying native plants, managing backcountry weather, spotting wildlife--including a VERY large moose, and working together as a team. Curiosity, resilience, confidence, and joy always came along for the ride.
