I’m really excited to finally share that my first book has launched: But I’m Bored (Penguin Random House). I’ve spent the last decade working with young children and their parents, and the question I kept coming back to was surprisingly simple:
Why does childhood feel so much harder than it needs to be? Parents are exhausted.
Kids are struggling.
And somewhere along the way, play turned into something we manage, create, or worry we’re not doing “right.” I didn’t write this book to tell parents to do more.
I wrote it because I think we’re already doing too much. In But I’m Bored, I unpack what boredom is really asking for, why independent play doesn’t come from the right toy or the perfect setup, and how small shifts in how we see play can lower the pressure for everyone.
