Canada defeated Brazil 2-0 to climb to second place at the SheBelieves Cup yesterday. Gilles scored on a header, her third international goal, to give Canada the lead at the 31st minute. Viens made it 2-0 at the 71st. The only team ahead of the CANWNT in the standings are the United States, who defeated Canada on Thursday’s tournament opener. ⚽

Before the game, the CANWNT once again wore purple T-shirts that read “Enough is Enough” and purple armbands during the game. ICYMI, Canada Soccer cut funding and deflected calls for transparency, then threatened legal action when the women’s team planned to go on strike to protest the unequal treatment. 🙃

Fans showed their support for the CANWNT in Tennessee. Meanwhile, across the ocean, England Women wore purple wristbands during their Arnold Clark Cup match against Italy to show support and solidarity to the Canadian women. 💜
