One of the biggest obstacles of the offseason for the Florida State Seminoles is ensuring that both Mandrell and Darryll Desir return for the 2026 season. Florida State has only secured Texas A&M defensive end transfer Rylan Kennedy in the portal window, but they have lost current players (other than the Desir Twins) like Kevin Wynn, Amaree Williams, KJ Sampson, James Williams, Jayson Jenkins, Jaden Jones, L A Jessie Harrold, Jamorie Flagg, and Tyeland Coleman. Florida State did bring in nine defensive linemen prospects for their 2026 recruiting cycle, which includes pieces like Earnest Rankins, Franklin Whitley, Jaemin Pinckney, Jalen Anderson (JUCO), among others, that could make an impact for the Seminoles on the defensive line. However, it is a dangerous proposition to bring in a whole new starting unit in the trenches and have full confidence that it pans out.
