Tips to Visit the Byodo-In temple, Hawaii ⤵️ • 📍 Oahu, Hawaii 💰 $5/person 📅 Open 8:30am - 4:30pm 7 days a week • ⏰ Arrive just prior to opening, or late afternoon to enjoy seemingly to yourself. We arrived at 8am, walked the grounds surrounding the temple and were first to enter. By 9:10am, it was swarming with tour buses. • 🤔 We thought 1 hour was just enough. • 🔔 Upon arrival, ring the sacred bell to your left and hear the most beautiful sound echo through the gardens. • 🚙 Arrive by car, public transportation, or small group tour if possible. Tour busses arrive at the same times, and the temple floods with people. • 🌴 Park in the lower lot and walk ~.25 mile to the temple - the palm-lined street and curated cemeteries were some the of most beautiful areas. • 👕 Wear appropriate clothing. • 🐠 Don’t miss the koi fish ponds surrounding the temple! • 📸 Bring your camera.
