In 2010, 77-year-old Myrna Estep was asleep in her home when an intruder busted in through a basement window, later leaving the house with $20 and shattering her peace of mind. It doesn’t happen to your family,” said Vickie Peck, Estep's daughter. The intruder wasn't identified until Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Andrea Knight was asked to take a look at the cold case before retiring after 35 years at the sheriff’s office. In the case files, Knight found a note and a fingerprint comparison form that mentioned similarities between the fingerprints taken from the Estep scene and two other unsolved burglaries.
