33 years after his 1992 season triumphs with McLaren-Honda, Gerhard Berger has been reunited with a very special piece of history: the restored RA122E/B V12 engine he qualified with at the Portuguese GP.
Painstakingly brought back to life at Honda Racing Corporation’s Sakura base, the engine was presented to Berger today by HRC President Koji Watanabe and Toyoharu Tanabe, his engineer from that very season.
From podiums in 1992 to this emotional reunion in 2025, it’s a powerful reminder of Formula 1’s enduring legacy being brought back to life by HRC’s memorabilia business.
