This is how ✨ Emelia Goddard ✨ saved TWO lives one day. 👇🏼 Last July, Emelia was on her break when she noticed a fellow lifeguard enter the water to help a struggling swimmer who had slipped off the diving board. The swimmer, who was much larger than the lifeguard, began to panic in the water and grabbed the lifeguard’s neck, causing them to submerge. Realizing the swimmer and lifeguard needed help, Emelia immediately entered the water and placed the panicked swimmer onto a rescue tube, then reached under the water to pull up the submerged lifeguard. Emelia guided them to the pool’s edge, where they were assisted out of the water. Although the swimmer did not need any additional care, the lifeguard had ingested a significant amount of water to where they displayed symptoms of shock. As witnesses called 911, Emelia provided first aid care until medical help arrived and transported the lifeguard to the hospital.
