His groundbreaking research helped revolutionize the blood banking system and how blood is collected and distributed today. Here are just a few reasons why we celebrate Dr. Drew and why you should, too: 💪🏽 He was the FIRST to serve as medical director for Red Cross’ National Blood Collection Program in 1941. 🪖 His work helped save hundreds of thousands of lives during World War II. 💡 He pioneered the way we collect, preserve and transport blood donations through the creation of bloodmobiles. 📚 He challenged segregation policies and advocated for medical and educational equality.
