Happy World Diabetes Day! My girl was diagnosed with Type 1 at 6 years old (she’s 13 now) and when I look back, the signs that something was wrong were very obvious, but I didn’t know what to look for at the time. Our story could have turned out very differently if I didn’t get her to the doctor in time (with a 480 blood sugar and a dying pancreas). I’m going to drop the signs of T1D here and hope you never need to recognize them in anyone you love. But if you do, know that it’s more than possible for them to thrive.
