Heading into the race my biggest intention was to maximize myself on the day. My coach and I didn’t know where that would put me, but we wanted to walk away with no regrets. After 25 laps of trying to race that way, I was 12th in the world.

I’m proud to come away from the race feeling like I got the most out of myself that I could. I’m proud to have made my first team after having another surgery last year. I’m proud to represent the United States and have been a part of the first World Championships on American soil.

This year and this race have been eye opening. It’s been a powerful lesson of focusing on what’s best for me, while also observing and watching what is required to compete at that next level. I’m lucky to have teammates that show me that on a daily basis. I’m excited for more racing this year, for what lies ahead, and to continue to cheer on my teammates and Team USA the rest of the Word Championships!
