The Kaitlin Smith Era of HBU Track and Field has officially come to an end 🧡💙 • • Nationals recap and reflection if you care: My last collegiate hep was the rollercoaster I hoped the hep would never be for me. Day 1 was crazy with 4 outdoor/wind-legal PRs for the first 4 events. Started strong with new school records in the the hurdles (13.53) and high jump (1.75m). I had my best day 1 ever, all I had to do was finish Day 2 like I have been all season and first-team was almost guaranteed. Sadly the hep did what the hep does and long jump struggles resumed, jav wouldn’t come together, I still ran a decent 800 but a PR wasn’t in the cards. I came into the meet ranked 16th and finished 11th in the country, but I am somehow still disappointed. I can’t let this be the last hep I end on, but at the same time I have given this event everything I have for the past few years and I don’t know how much more I have left.
