#plasticfreejuly tip 11 (Dish Soap) For the longest time, I could only ever find dish soap in plastic bottles. When I first started reducing trash, dish soap never even crossed my mind until the bottle I had ran out. I didn't have many options when I first started reducing waste. I actually resorted to using just baking soda for a long while after my grandmother gave me the idea. She used baking soda when she was younger. Now, I have many more options that I hope you have, too. 1. Solid dish soap. I use this now and love it. I wet my scrub brush and get my dishes clean. You can find solid dish soap in some stores and can assuredly find it online from some amazing zero waste stores. 2. Baking soda. This was used a long time ago to scrub dishes. Ash was also used.
