Two Canisius teams made the semifinals and one qualified for the state championships during a terrific Saturday at Scaccia Auditorium as CHS Robotics hosted its annual invitational. Aidan Billman ’26 of Lockport, Tyler Meredith ’26 of Cheektowaga and Jayden Graham ’26 of Buffalo piloted their robot, 1870E, to the state championships through their semifinal finish at the Canisius High School 2026 VEX V5 Push Back Robotics Competition. The state championships will be held in Syracuse in March.  The winning teams at the CHS competition were a girls squad from Montreal’s Collège Sainte-Marcelline which is one of the top-ranked teams in the world, as well as a team from Belfast Central High School in Allegany County. The competition included 30 teams from throughout New York State and beyond.
