A group of seniors and faculty members traveled earlier this school year to the Adirondack Mountains for our annual Wilderness Retreat, a three-day experience that engages the participants in quiet time and reflection among the stunning wonders of nature. Building upon the foundations established as underclassmen, participants in the Wilderness Retreat embrace St. Ignatius’ maxim to “find God in all things.”  To do this, students engage in a reflective experience in the beauty of creation, focused on the journey of life and understanding their relationship with Christ as well as their companions.  The experience couples challenging, rewarding hikes throughout the day with reflection and conversation at night.  Leading the retreat in the Adirondack High Peaks were history teacher Dennis Beecher ’88, English teacher Paul Cumbo ’97, science teacher Steve Wanzer and Director of Alumni Relations Jay Josker ’01.  Our extensive CHS Campus Ministry retreat program also includes ...
