Check out work in progress by McKinney International Artist in Residence Akirash at his studio at the Eskenazi School.  Using cardboard boxes he has collected from campus and across town, Akirash painted the boxes, cut them into strips, glued, stapled, and wove them together with yarns. The piece is inspired by Akirash’s visit to the Eskenazi School’s Sage Historic Costume Collection and the way students on campus dress in winter — using layers and layers of fabric.
